Your first name, where you are, and a few lines about yourself. You do not have to write a CV and you do not have to be clever.
riblinked is a dating agency, which means the site is here to help you find someone rather than to keep you on it. Here is exactly what happens between joining and writing to somebody.
Your first name, where you are, and a few lines about yourself. You do not have to write a CV and you do not have to be clever.
Company, friendship, travel, or something long-term. Being blunt about this at the start is the single thing that saves the most time later.
You decide whether your profile is visible to everyone or only to people you have already said yes to. You can change this at any time.
You can narrow the list by age range and by the things people have said they are interested in. That is the whole search. There is no hidden ranking, no “boost” that puts one profile above another because somebody paid for it, and no endless feed to scroll.
When a profile looks interesting you read it, and then you either write something or you do not. There is no mechanism that keeps a count of how many people have looked at you, because that number is only ever used to make people anxious.
Joining is free. Writing a profile, browsing, and being found are free. Rather than publish a price list here for features that are still being built, we would rather tell you plainly: if we ever charge for something, it will be shown on this page before you can be charged for it, and nothing you have already written will be locked behind it.
Nothing here is a rule, and none of it is enforced. It is simply what tends to work.
“I like walking and travel” is true of almost everybody, so it reads as nothing. The specific thing — the walk you do every Sunday, the place you would go back to tomorrow — is what gives someone a reason to write.
It feels rude to narrow it, and then you spend a month reading profiles that were never going to work. Being specific is kinder to everybody, including the people you are not going to write to.
If you would not say it out loud to a friend, it will read oddly here too. Nobody is marking your grammar. A short profile in your own voice beats a long one written to impress.
Do not put your full address, your workplace, your phone number or your email address in your profile. It is public to whoever you have made it visible to, and it stays in a stranger's browser once they have read it. Our safety page goes through this properly.
We cannot promise that everybody you meet here is telling the truth about themselves. Nobody can, and a site that claims otherwise is selling you reassurance rather than providing it. What we can tell you is precisely what we do check and what we do not, so you can make your own judgement.
Four minutes to write a profile, and then you can look around.
